Explore Promised Land
The Rex is directly adjacent to Promised Land State Park. When you walk out of your room, you only need to walk a few steps before you’re on the Boundary Trail (kid and dog friendly) which will lead you directly to one of the two lakes in the park. From there, spend an afternoon on the beach, kayak on the water or hike the various miles of trails.
Our Suggested Daily Itinerary:
- Wake up in your cozy Brooklinen sheets, cook or grab an energy filled breakfast
- Fill up a water bottle, pack a lunch and head out on the Boundary trail (follow the signs for the trailhead)
- Take a quick dip in Promised Land Lake
- Cook or enjoy dinner out (some suggestions below)
- Sit back and relax in your Polywood Adirondack Chairs and roast s’mores over your Solo Stove fire pit
Promised Land Boundary Trail – Walk outside your room to the trailhead located at The Rex and make your way onto the 6.3 mile moderately trafficked point-to-point trail. We suggest bringing a trail map with you as the Boundary Trail can split off and you may only want to do a part of it depending on distance and length of time. Moderate.
Little Falls Trails – Located on the western side of Promised Land State Park, this is one of the most popular hikes in the area. 2.7 mile moderately trafficked loop trail. Good for all skill levels.
Egypt Meadow Lake Loop – About a 6 minute drive from The Rex. 2.1 mile lightly trafficked loop trail. A bit rocky in some parts but good for all skill levels.
Eat – a few of our local favorites we personally recommend:
Wallenpaupack Brewery – Handcrafted beers and in-house prepared foods use locally sourced ingredients
Ringside Fire Grill – Delicious Woodfired pizza only a 8 minute drive way
The Dock on Wallenpaupack – Great food with great views of the lake. We highly recommend making reservations before you go.
Cocoon Bakery – Perfect spot to grab a coffee and pastry before you start your day
Experience the unspoiled wilderness of Promised Land, PA.
